FDB’s founder Michael Wilson has always been an artist first. His relentless creativity has always set him apart no matter what medium.

Growing up, his father taught him the basics of carpentry and other trades. It wasn’t until his twenties that he apprenticed under a general contractor specializing in finish work that he found his passion for woodworking and finish carpentry. For the next five years, he gained invaluable experience working on the historic craftsman homes in Long Beach, CA.

Over the years, he’s worked on all sides of building and production. From drafting to plan check and project management, to rough-in and finish. From tiny cabin remodels up in Big Bear to finish work on a few aircraft carriers down in Coronado, Michael has worked on a wide variety of projects.

He launched Fiicus Design Build (FDB) in 2021 and got his license not long after. Whether it’s building custom cabinets or laying foundations, Michael brings his attention to detail to every project, no matter what the size.
